Is there a divide between those that work from home and those that do not?
It seemed early enough. 6:30 PM start time. I can do that I thought. Formal attire? Not as easy. When was the last time I even went into a store to buy something? Let alone something fashionable.
I had been up and working since 5:30 in the morning. As in — in person. Commuting. Traffic. No time for lunch working and soon enough 6:30 PM felt like midnight. On the other end of the spectrum. Folks who were working from home could try on outfits — make plans and enjoy the evening in an entirely different way. They had the time and the resources to prepare for a Gala. I had Tupperware in my backpack.
If you don’t need to get up early and go to an office, going out on a weeknight, feels more like a college student with an early morning class. It might be tough to get up, but you can always roll out of bed in your pajamas or blow it off. For those of us in the workforce, full time, our social lives may not be keeping up with yours. FOMO.
